How does Life Backup Plan check on me and notify someone if I need help?
You set up as many automated check ons per day as you would like - every ten minutes if that's what suits you.
When the Check On happens, you press either the green button saying, "I'm OK," or the red button saying, "I need help."
Life Backup Plan's proactive passive response system is hands free. If you don't press either button, we assume you need help.
If you press the red button saying you need help, or don't answer at all, Life Backup Plan notifies the contacts you've already set up in the order in which you've requested them to be notified. It keeps notifying your contacts until someone says they can help you.
Do I need a wearable, medical alert pendant, or other special equipment?
No. Life Backup Plan is designed to work with any smartphone and requires no additional equipment.
Do my family members and trusted contacts need a subscription to receive alerts?
No. If they need to be alerted, they will receive a standard text message, just like any other text message they might receive **Standard text messaging rates from their carrier may apply.
Can I choose what health information I share and who receives it?
Yes. You may choose what health information you share on a line-by-line basis, customizable for each contact.
Can I use Life Backup Plan on my computer or tablet?
Yes. Once you have established the account and completed multi factor authentication (MFA) on your phone, you may use your computer, tablet, or your phone's browser to complete account setup, enter your personal health information, enter contacts, critical documents, and your lifestyle, wellness, and symptom tracking information.
